Research Assistant

Noa Zemer holds a Master of Science in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at Technion IIT, Haifa, Israel, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the same institution. Her academic excellence has been recognized through multiple distinguished fellowships, including Technion's Outstanding Master's Thesis Award, the Irwin and Joan Jacobs Award for research achievements in graduate studies, and a Graduate Fellowship for excellence in research. Her Master’s research examined a 1965 brutalist estate as a unique convergence of a market-led housing enterprise and post-war social housing planning tendencies, investigating the past and present social dynamics of the middle-class residents appropriating it. Her work has been published in academic journals and book chapters, including publications in Urban Planning and contributions to "The Social Dimension of Social Housing" book and "European Middle-Class Mass Housing: Past and Present of the Modern Community" atlas. At Technion, Noa served as a research member at HousingLab: History and Future of Living Research Group, and as a student instructor for a core architecture history and theory course in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning. As a practicing architect, Noa's professional experience includes architectural documentation of heritage buildings and heritage preservation, along with architectural planning of housing projects at various scales.
